Thank you to all who have been so supportive of my website! I have really tried to keep new articles posted every couple weeks. I really enjoy getting all the feedback and comments so be sure to continue signing the guestbook with any comments you might have and just to keep me informed on who is checking out the site!
I am still writing for the Valley Voice newspaper. I have had my own column for about 6 months now. Please check it out! If you don't live in the area and are interested in seeing it then I would be happy to send you a copy! It is a local newspaper that is hand delivered to 20,000 homes in the North Valley area. It is also stocked in the local Starbucks, Jamba Juice, IHOP, Western Bagel, Whole Foods and many other places. I started writing for them in June I am so lucky to be able to have my own column which will have articles like I have posted on this site. I will also have an advice column for anyone to write in with any problems they might have. The column will be titled "Something Like Life" and the advice column will be called "Tell it Treu". Please be sure to pick up a copy and pass along the exciting news. Also, if anyone wants to write in please feel free to do so. Either for advice or just to give your input! I am so excited for this recent endeavor and I will definitely keep you posted with any news.
For those of you who don't know me, my name is Laina. I am 26 years old and grew up in Los Angeles. I, like most of you have been through numerous experiences in life. From relationships to family to school and so forth.
I have always had a sincere interest in writing. I am constantly writing in my head. I play out conversations, make up stories, and write out letters all in my head. I love venting about whatever is on my mind, and putting it in my own words: writing them down exactly how I would say them. I have always said that one day I wanted to write a book or have my own column. Well, like I say to all my friends if you want to do something then you need to just DO IT! I started my first book and my goal is to finish it in 2008. I started writing for the paper doing my own column in 2007. The only way to accomplish your dreams is to try!
I came up with the idea of my own website where people can read my ranting's about life and everything that goes along with it. Although I have taken writing classes, I am not a professional journalist. What I offer is a realness and humor that you will not find somewhere else. The way that I write, is how I speak. I no not going to write only on one particular subject. I write about whatever has effected me that week or anything that is on my mind. The articles are not just about my life. They could be pertaining to issues friends are dealing with as well. I will write about any subject that has been on my mind or going on around me.
While I do love to write, there are many other things I do. (Gotta pay the bills right?!) I am operations manager at an aerospace company. It's very busy and a lot of work. I have worked there for 5 years and I am very close with all my buyers and companies that I work with. Besides writing, fashion has always been a passion of mine. I just recently started my own clothing line and am working on getting the website up and running. Once it's up I will put the info on this site. The first clothing line is dedicated towards modesty. The line is called Modest Tees. I am now designing my second line which is geared more towards the rock in all of us! It's called Treu Rock Clothing. I also do the accounting for the cheer squads at the high school I went to. I am attending school full time. I hope *fingers crossed* to have my masters in creative writing by early 2009. I would love to say late 2008 but I'm being realistic! I also just started working with Chelsy Swenson in doing the writing for her. Check out her site www.chelsyswenson.com. She is an up and coming professional dirt bike rider! She rocks and is also an excellent teacher!! She definitely got me hooked on riding!
